Our 5th Annual WiHM Edition!

Ladies, can you believe this is our fifth edition of The Sirens Call eZine fully dedicated to, and in celebration of, Women in Horror Month? We’re opening the call early this year to give you plenty of time to write.

For the February 2017 issue, we are accepting works of horror fiction from women only. We welcome short stories, flash fiction, drabbles, and poetry.

Four basic rules:

• You MUST be female
• Your story or prose MUST contain horror
• Write the piece well
• Don’t breach our set-in-stone taboos – NO pedophilia, NO bestiality, and NO descriptive rape scenarios

Let’s make our fifth year of honoring WiHM brutally epic while instilling a healthy dose of fear, creeping dread, and respect for a well spun yarn into all who read your words!

REPRINTS ARE WELCOME!!

Submission Deadline: January 15, 2017

Short story word count: 1,000 – 2,500

Flash fiction word count: 300 – 1,000

Poem length: minimum 10 lines; maximum 50 lines (limit of five submissions per author)

Drabbles: 100 words (limit of five submitted per author)

Reprints are acceptable as long as you currently hold the copyright.
