  1. When I was in my early 20’s I was dating a guy that liked to think he was something of a paranormal buff. We went to a nearby, abandoned hotel on Halloween and started to investigate. Missing the holes in the rotten floor and trying not to inhale too much of the peeling paint, we discovered an old rabbit-ear television in one of the upstairs rooms. Thinking it was an odd thing to find, we sat down (carefully) in the room. My ex started talking to the television and being what I can only describe as stupid. Nothing happened while we were sitting there so we got up and left the room, hoping to find something more interesting in one of the other rooms. Shortly thereafter, we heard a noise coming from down the hall. Rushing to investigate, we discovered that the television was now on, static filling the black and white screen. I’m not ashamed to admit that it scared the crap out of me – the freaking thing had no cord and there was no way that the requisite power could have been feeding it. We both high-tailed it out of there and decided that we wouldn’t be investigating any sites for quite a while…

You may have had to have been there, but trust me, I get chills just thinking about it!
